We are now accepting applications for the position of:
Church Treasurer
The Treasurer will assist in the confidential receipt, accounting, disbursing, and reporting of all financial offerings and gifts to the Church. The Treasurer must have a basic knowledge of accounting procedures, be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, be highly detail oriented, possess excellent organizational skills, and be able to communicate effectively and work well with others.
Primary Duties:
• Reconcile and maintain up to date records of all funds received and disbursed.
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation for all requests for payment.
• Prepare employee payroll to be distributed on the 4th Sunday of each month, or on an approved alternate schedule.
• Submit all contributions (including missions support, donations, and other designated gifts) that have been pre approved by the Church to the appropriate agencies in a timely manner.
• Submit all required monthly payments and quarterly reports to the IRS and other applicable agencies in a timely manner.
• Prepare monthly draft financial report for review at least 2 days prior to the Budget and Finance Committee meeting.
• Present financial reports at the Church business meeting.
The Treasurer is expected to maintain strict confidentiality in all financial matters and to perform all duties in a manner that supports the mission of Little Elam Baptist Church.
