
Meet Our Pastor and First Lady
Rev. Daniel W. Patterson, Sr. , Pastor
Rev. Daniel W. Patterson, Sr. is a native of Newport News, Va. via New Kent County, Va. He is
the youngest son of the late Jesse and Bessie Patterson. He is married to the former Faye Jones
of New Kent, Va. They have three sons, D.J. (deceased), twin sons Craig and Corey and four
grandchildren.
Rev. Patterson is a graduate of New Kent High School. He attended Virginia Tech on a football
scholarship, and is a graduate of North Carolina College of Theology with an Associates Degree
in Biblical Studies and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology.
Rev. Patterson retired with twenty four years of Law Enforcement where his career started with
Hampton Police Department. He also worked with York County Sheriff’s Department and his
last twenty years were with New Kent Sheriff’s Office. During his law enforcement career he
graduated from the Texas Crime Prevention Institute, Hampton Roads Criminal Justice
Academy, Virginia D.A.R.E. Officer’s Training School and the Virginia School Resource Officer’s
Training School.
A community activist, he coached football at New Kent Middle and High Schools for eighteen
years, founded and directed The New Kent Youth Center, New Kent Basketball and AAU teams.
He served on the Quin Rivers Agency for Community Action Board of Directors, and is a retired
volunteer for Meals On Wheels for New Kent County. Danny was inducted in 2019 to the New
Kent High School Athletics Hall of Fame.
Rev. Patterson was ordained as a deacon in 2005 at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Barhamsville,
Va. He accepted his call into the ministry and was licensed to preach the gospel August 30, 2009
and was ordained May 15, 2010. He served as associate minister at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in
Barhamsville, Va., the visiting minister at Samaria Baptist Church in Charles City and co-pastor
at the Edge Worship Centre in West Point, Va. Rev. Patterson has just celebrated his 6 th
Anniversary as Pastor of Little Elam Baptist Church.
Rev. Patterson’s passion in life and ministry is best described in one of his favorite Scriptures, I
Corinthians 13:13 “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three: but the greatest of these is
love.”
Mrs. Faye Patterson, First Lady
Mrs. Faye Patterson is a native of New Kent County. She is married to Rev. Danny
Patterson. They have three sons and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Patterson is a graduate of New Kent High School. She has an Associate
Degree in Early Childhood Education with a certification in Human Resources.
She was employed with New Kent/Charles City Head Start for eighteen years,
New Kent Public Schools for four years and worked as a Regional Supervisor for
Bay Aging for seven years. She retired January 2017.
Some of her community involvement included being a co-founder of the New
Kent County Youth Center, and New Kent AAU Basketball Club. She served on the
New Kent/Charles City Healthy Families and New Kent County CADRE boards. As
an advocate for youth she served as President for New Kent Primary School P.T.O.
and was involved and assisted in many community activities for youth of all ages.
She implemented and serves as the Ministry Director of the “’Grief Share ”’
ministry at Little Elam Baptist Church.
One of her favorite scriptures: Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to
those who are the called according to His purpose.
